Local shops in Lavadac are great but the new Super U, just built the other end of town, has everything you could wish for and more. The market on Wednesday is well worth a visit, fab cheeses, (you can try) and local vegetables. All at reasonable prices.

Our local bar/restaurant is an essential port of call.

Local activities are so varied it’s difficult to know where to start
Buzet-Sur-Baise.

However some of the main local attractions are at Buzet ‘port’ not only our local vinyard but also the place to pick up your floating home if you wish to tour the vast canals that join up to the rivers Lot and Garonne, some of the largest waterways in France.

Nerac
Occasional 14th Century home of King Henry IV, one of the most beautiful towns in SW France, (much of the film ‘Chocolate’ was shot here). This town has everything and the local central coffee house come bakery come general meeting point is almost a daily visit for us.

Barbaste
Has the only fortified mill house in France with Roman bridge, you could walk from our house in about 45 minutes.
